CLEANTECH ALLIANCE’S
Focus on Fusion
WHO
WE ARE
The Focus on Fusion Cluster is a consortium of the fusion energy companies and surrounding ecosystem that aims to overcome common industry challenges.
This multi-pronged innovation cluster seeks to raise the profile and competitiveness of the fusion energy industry through key collaborations in areas such as supply chain, regulatory hurdles, workforce development, and community benefits and engagement.
Our mission is to increase competitiveness and actively demonstrate the benefits of industry co-location in the state of Washington and the region.
The Focus on Fusion cluster has brought together every fusion company in Washington, research institutions, local governments, educational partners, and other business organizations to collaborate for the advancement of the sector.
This working group already functions similarly to the emerging hydrogen hub backbone organizations and assembles all the same regional expertise that makes Washington a global technology and clean energy leader.
The group’s focus is to raise the profile and competitiveness of the fusion industry at
large.
Activities include:
- Scientific and engineering education and collaboration.
- Attracting supply chain and engineering firms who will assist in wide scale
commercialization of fusion energy. - Analysis of regulatory priorities to support the fusion sector.
- Legislative education to guide state, local, and regional policy.
- Community outreach to raise awareness of the decarbonization benefits of
fusion energy within local cities, rural towns, and communities of color. - Workforce development partnerships to educate and train a future diverse
fusion energy workforce.
